Improve your chess with these simple steps
Improvement in chess requires few simple steps, done repeatedly or exercised over time. The steps are to Study, Recall and Practice, Correct, Repeat!
1
Step One: Study
This is the first step in the winning direction. Chess improvement is more knowledge acquisition based than anything else. So learn those openings, do plenty of puzzles and grow your chess knowledge daily.
Would you like to start a study period? You can use different types of timers for that here on SharpMind.

Step Two: Recall and Practice
Practice means applying what you have studied. You do that by playing games. However, before playing games, it can be very helpful to remind yourself how to play chess correctly e.g., “I have to consider the available checks first, then the captures, then the attacks”. You can do that using our short chess quiz.

Step Three: Correct!
Losing because your opponent is too strong is okay. Losing because of making the same type of mistake again and again and not working toward fixing that type of mistake is not okay.
Its important to work toward fixing these mistakes. That’s how you get better and ultimately enjoy playing chess.
Game reviews and post-game analysis really help with this.
